Dual Mode Moisture Sensor

Termatrac’s T3i All Sensor incorporates a dual mode Moisture Sensor, exclusive in the market. The T3i Moisture Sensor enables the Pest Control Operator to easily and accurately identify areas of excess moisture. Moisture meter operates in 2 modes. The Relative Mode detects any change in moisture beneath the walls surface from reference point. The Direct moisture meter detects moisture content beneath the wall surfaces with moisture percentage.

The T3i Dual Mode Moisture Sensor uses a capacitance based method to ascertain the moisture level in a structure.

This is an omni-directional technology as it sets up an electric field to find the level of conductance in a material and hence deduce the level of moisture. T3i differs from the way it does its calculations and measurements compared to some other meters, by way of sending a direct sensor out from the middle of the unit not operating in an ark fashion of conductivity.


The T3i Moisture Sensor penetrates up to 2.5” (60mm) deep into the material and extends out past the outer dimensions of the T3i Device, allowing for any moisture present under or around the T3i Device to be detected.


Direct Moisture Sensor

The Direct mode sensor reads any slight increase or decrease in moisture within the wall. The moisture reading is displayed on a dial with a percentage. Featured on the dual mode moisture sensor is the optional alarm feature. The feature alerts the operator when one of the 3 selected percentage thresholds are reached or has exceeded. Direct moisture sensor displays the absolute moisture value.

Relative Moisture Sensor

The relative moisture sensor gives accurate readings of moisture penetration. The data shows the relative difference between two moisture points.

By simply sliding the moisture pad flush across the walls surface the Relative mode indicates any slight increase or decrease in moisture between current position and reference point. This is important as it provides accurate results for any level of moisture in a wide range of conditions (heat, humidity, etc.)- Allowing operators to find area of moisture that are conclusive of termite activity.  

The Sensor allows technicians to determine possible risk area conducive to termite activity by detecting any change in moisture across the wall or floor surface by sampling sliding the moisture sensor pad across the surface. The sensor accurately identifies the difference in moisture levels on most surfaces, including wood, drywall, roofing, plaster, brick, concrete, etc. Also, the specifically designed moisture padding ensures no marks occur on the tested surface areas when scanning for moisture.
